Filters are good ways of making an image look more visually interesting or adds a style to one. Some filters look really good on their own, like the cutout and photocopy filters which are simple but effective and give a very different feeling than the original. Some work really well when they're combined. I think the combination of the Note Paper and Halftone Pattern works really well as I feel it gives more visual flair to the image when a pattern is added to the not paper filter. I don't think the combination of Charcoal and Coloured Pencil works as well because the blur is very strong so the details look a bit strange. Only some filters work well together and some work best on their own I feel. I think most of these images work well because the filters give a good change of style even if they do simplify the image in some cases.
I think these filters will only serve certain purposes. For example I only think the Diffuse Glow, Crosshatch, Halftone Pattern and maybe Cutout filters would fit on a fashion magazine but the rest could fit much better onto a gaming or film magazine. Some mightn't even fit magazines but only are useful for design purposes, like when I used the Glowing Edges and Charcoal together. I don't think it could fit onto a magazine cover but make a nice looking image. I also think that though some are similar they are meant for different things. 15 and 16 both simplify an image down a little bit, but for a more bold, eye-catching image on a cover or ad 15 is better. 16 keeps in a bit more detail and adds some texture which might work for something that's meant to be less eye-catching or just a design since this makes it much less bold than 15.
nice range of filters- some of which will be more suitable to a fashion magazine than others, the commentary gives some meaning ( but could have been extended further : comparing/ contrasting, talking about the merits and suitability to the differing filters. or comparing the different setting with in one filter you liked to see what differing effects can be achieved.
