Kerrang! Magazine Examples

1) Looks like a quick studio shot. Dave Grohl is centered and is in front of the masthead, which could imply that he is more important than the magazine. This is also shown through how he takes up most of the page. His name is big and in red to draw attention to it. The font of the masthead is quite normal which may make Dave Grohl seem relateable since it could indicate he's like most people despite his status.

2)Again it looks like a studio shot but the lighting seems a bit better. The band seem surprised and look directly at the reader which may be a way of drawing them in as they'll want to know why they're like that. Again, them and their name is large which could show importance.

3) Corey Taylor has an angry or aggressive expression which fits with the "Takes over" line below his name. This was done likely to show how the sound of the bands he's in is to the reader. "Your favourite magazine" is suggestive to the reader or could reflect the punk attitude and feeling the magazine may be going for. The masthead font is cracked which shows he is impactful.

4)The faces of the band aren't visible which might be a way of making them seem mysterious or intimidating. They're wearing red which can indicate danger so this also makes them seem intimidating. Again they're in front of the masthead which gives them importance.
