Hello!Fashion

Hello!Fashion is a monthly magazine. It uses a lot of both sans and serif fonts, but largely serif. Some of the headlines are in red to catch attention, and others use a serif font to add importance to them. The magazine only seems to focus on fashion and doesn't include celebrity news like the others. The language is very approachable so it's good for the 16-24 year old demographic. The low price might lend itself to this demographic since they mightn't have much money to spend, so this price is more inviting than other magazines. The woman on the cover is looking directly at the reader to create a connection so they're inclined to buy the magazine. The colours are bright and distinct to grab attention.
Vogue

Vogue is a monthly magazine and costs £3.99. The masthead uses a serif font to maybe show it's important or respected so it's worth buying. It also is coloured pink, which is stereotypically associated with women so this helps to show it's demographic. It's font's colours all stand out against their backings to easily grab attention. The headlines are a mix of celebrity news, fashion trends and health which can attract a variety of people. The wording of them is very approachable and safe, and again this fits a 16-24 year old demographic. Again, the woman on the front is directly looking at the reader to create a connection. The photo is a studio shot which could show that the magazine has good quality straight from the cover.
InStyle

InStyle was a monthly magazine that cost £3.99. The masthead of this is behind the woman on the front, which tells the reader the magazine is so well known that it doesn't need it's name to be shown. It uses a lot of bold sans serif text to catch attention. It uses the buzzword 'exclusive' to make itself sound premium since the story can't be found anywhere else and uses the headline as a selling point. It uses some words like 'sexy' to maybe be bold and grab attention. This magazine also has direct address to create a connection like the others.

Look

Look was a weekly magazine. Like InStyle, the woman on the cover is in front of the masthead to signify the scale of the brand. The masthead is in bright pink, showing it's audience
as pink is stereotypically associated with women. It also stands out against the white and grey backings so it easily will catch your attention. The font of it is serif to show it's important or respected. The cover generally uses serif fonts which also gives the whole magazine this impression. The language is approachable, and also uses questions and words like 'how' to make people want to buy the magazine and find out the answers.
