Surveys

Organisations such as RAJAR or BARB can create surveys to see how effective an ad campaign or anything else is. This lets them get figures such as the amount of people watching/listening and how they are doing this. Companies can then adjust their advertising strategies with this information. For example the information may tell them what platform the audience uses most, so they can change the ads to be more aimed toward this platform. There are also many online surveys that can be taken directly by a company on their website to get this information. Surveys will usually give quantitative data but depending on how questions are asked they can get qualitative data.

Direct Responses

There are multiple ways for companies to get direct feedback from their audience. If a company makes use of a response card system they can get a short answer about an experience. People can send an email with feedback as well, or a company might send an email asking about an experience. For example, Amazon sometimes send an email asking you to review a product after its been delivered.

There is also face to face feedback which can be done in a store for example. A real conversation can allow for very in depth answers,questions and responses so data may be more informative and worthwhile.

Companies can get direct feedback by using social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook. When a they post something,people can send feedback on that specific post or any other problem they might have. This makes it easier to get all sorts of feedback without needing to ask a specific question.
