This lets them get figures such as the amount of people watching/listening and how they are doing this. Companies can then adjust their advertising strategies with this information. For example the information may tell them what platform the audience uses most, so they can change the ads to be more aimed toward this platform. There are also many online surveys that can be taken directly by a company on their website to get this information. Surveys will usually give quantitative data but depending on how questions are asked they can get qualitative data.
